West is certainly the best when it comes to Huckleberry Cafe in New Lynn. The cafe has achieved a lot since opening its doors in July 2016. Inspired by his own children, Chef Lee was determined to create a space where children could be entertained and well fed, while parents can enjoy the cafe experience. A play pen with a chalkboard, rocking horse and plenty of toys are sure to prove popular as well as the entrance pavement providing a canvas for chalk art in the summer months.
An open kitchen means little ones can also observe from a distance the labour of love that goes into creating both menu and cabinet items. The French toast that features on the kids menu is a popular choice and its no wonder with the cafe understanding the importance of serving food not laced with sugar, opting for brown rice malt and agave as alternatives.
